Bal Brach is an award-winning storyteller with nearly two decades of experience working in Canadian media. She has been a producer and reporter for the country’s major news networks — CTV, Global News and CBC News. In 2017, Bal was a finalist for a Canadian Screen Award — celebrating excellence in film, television and digital media.

About Bal
Currently, Bal spends her time working on independent projects through her company Wrise Productions Inc. She also continues a working relationship with Canada’s public broadcaster, as a guest host on CBC radio. In 2021, Urban Asian Magazine named Bal one of the “Top 20 most influential South Asians in Vancouver, B.C.
Bal’s Storytelling Philosophy
Bal is passionate about telling stories from underrepresented communities. Her journalism and storytelling is guided by fairness, personal integrity and compassion. Frustrated at the lack of representation in Canadian television, Bal started Wrise Productions Inc. in 2015 to create a platform for content that reflects the diverse communities in Canada and abroad.
