Synopsis

The average wedding in North America costs $30,000 but if you’re Indian, in Canada, that cost is $100,000. Little India Big Business explores the growth of big, fat Indian weddings in Canada. It reveals the pressures that young South Asians face when planning their weddings. The documentary highlights how lucrative these celebrations are for vendors, the lengths they go to ensure their clients’ needs are met, and the cost of this commercialization on the sanctity of marriage.

“Whether you're Indian or not, this film will have you questioning and exploring your own attitudes towards marriage and weddings.”
